Elliott's Epilepsy Entourage 2026
Meet Elliott and his family…One Year Later 💜
When we shared Elliott’s story last year, we were still learning what it meant to have a child with epilepsy. A year later, we’ve learned a lot — but epilepsy has also taught us that there are some things you simply can’t predict.
Elliott continues to have breakthrough seizures, which happen while he is sleeping. We’ve learned what his seizures look like, when to give his emergency medication and what to do when one happens. But I don’t think you ever truly get used to watching your child have a seizure.
Epilepsy has become something that quietly follows us through everyday life. It means medication every day. A seizure camera watching him while he sleeps. Emergency medication that goes wherever Elliott goes. Making sure the people caring for him know what to look for and what to do. And sometimes, it means going to bed wondering if tonight will be the night another seizure happens.
That is one of the hardest parts of epilepsy — the unpredictability.
But if you met Elliott, epilepsy probably wouldn’t be one of the first things you would know about him. You would see a happy, funny and energetic little boy. You’d see him playing with his brothers and friends, singing, dancing, learning and riding his bike. You’d see Elliott being Elliott.
And that is exactly how we want it to stay.
Epilepsy is something Elliott lives with, but it does not define him.
Last year, our family started Elliott’s Epilepsy Entourage because we wanted to turn something that can feel scary and uncertain into something positive. We wanted people to learn about epilepsy, understand that seizures don’t always look the way they do on television, know what to do if they ever witness one — and help support research that could change the future for people like Elliott.
The amount of love and support surrounding him during our first Entourage meant more to our family than we could ever properly put into words.
So this year, Elliott’s Epilepsy Entourage is back for year two. 💜
And this time, Elliott would love to ride his bike alongside his Entourage!
Whether you walk or bike, go one lap or many, it doesn’t matter. This day isn't about how far or how fast you go. It’s about showing up, starting conversations, raising awareness and surrounding Elliott — and everyone living with epilepsy — with a community that understands and cares.
So get your purple on and come walk, bike, raise awareness and be part of Elliott’s Entourage. 💜
For Elliott, and for everyone living with epilepsy.
