Dance For Declan

  • Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre 6 Northmen Way Orangeville, ON, L9W 3B2 Canada (map)

On Saturday Feb 4th, 2023, join us for an evening of music, food, and friendship to honour the life of Declan Cranley and raise funds for Epilepsy Canada. The event will feature music from the local band, Stölen. Food and drink will be available for purchase. Cash only please. Silent auction online and on-site.

Declan passed away on July 7, 2022 at the age of 23 from complications from his epilepsy.

Declan Cranley was known for his infectious laugh, curiosity, compassion for others, and his ability to argue anything. His enthusiasms for hockey, history, politics, music, and film were enormous and he generously shared them with all. Declan enjoyed many adventures living in South East Asia and we know his love of travel and new cultures would have continued. He was loved and admired by so many.

In August 2021 Declan was diagnosed with medial temporal lobe epilepsy. He continued to live his best life but sadly 10 months later he died from complications of this disease. He was just 23 years old.

It is our hope, through fundraising activities in his name, that we can support Epilepsy Canada’s research and programs to promote the health of other victims of this disease and possibly prevent similar tragedies in future.
